Change is definitely a constant, especially in the life of a Methodist pastor. I am relocating to SE KS to serve 3 small rural churches. I have left IGP and High Five. I wish them well on their musical journeys.
The first part of this year has been busy with IGP gigs and my new role as President of the Topeka Blues Society. I have had the privilege of working with some great people in leadership of this great organization. I have also had the tremendous opportunity to play music with some amazing musicians. I have been playing electric guitar, singing and playing keys. It has been a wonderful learning curve playing with such seasoned musicians.
I have also been busy with playing and leading music at Highland Park UMC as well as for the United Methodist Great Plains Conference events. I have the great opportunity to play bass for opening worship at the upcoming Annual Conference. This is the second time I have been asked to play at Conference events. I guess it went well the first time. 🙂
The next chapter looks a little quieter on the ministry and band front which should make some space for songwriting and solo performance. But, who knows who might cross my path? There are some great music scenes close to where I am going. Joplin and Tulsa are fairly close. Topeka and KC are still within in driving distance.
Keep moving forward!
