MARSHALL MUSIC

Musical Background

Marshall’s playing centers on groove, tone, and musical space. Drawing from blues, classic rock, and roots traditions, he performs on electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and keyboards, bringing a warm, dynamic sound to both solo performances and ensemble settings. His approach emphasizes strong rhythm, clear arrangements, and songs that invite listeners into the music.

Changes

Change is definitely a constant, especially in the life of a Methodist pastor. I am relocating to SE KS to serve 3 small rural churches. I have left IGP and High Five. I wish them well on their musical journeys.

The first part of this year has been busy with IGP gigs and my new role as President of the Topeka Blues Society. I have had the privilege of working with some great people in leadership of this great organization. I have also had the tremendous opportunity to play music with some amazing musicians. I have been playing electric guitar, singing and playing keys. It has been a wonderful learning curve playing with such seasoned musicians.

I have also been busy with playing and leading music at Highland Park UMC as well as for the United Methodist Great Plains Conference events. I have the great opportunity to play bass for opening worship at the upcoming Annual Conference. This is the second time I have been asked to play at Conference events. I guess it went well the first time. 🙂

The next chapter looks a little quieter on the ministry and band front which should make some space for songwriting and solo performance.  But, who knows who might cross my path? There are some great music scenes close to where I am going. Joplin and Tulsa are fairly close. Topeka and KC are still within in driving distance.

Keep moving forward!

Gray Skies (Just a Little Blue)

Good Wednesday morning 🌞

The sun is out today. Not so much yesterday. I was inspired to write a song about gray skies yesterday. I will upload a sample of it on my Facebook page on Monday before I record it for my upcoming solo album.

Cheers!

New Year

Hello Friends!

Happy New Year! I hope 2026 has some great things in store for you. 2026 holds some interesting things for me. I am more connected to the local music scene as President of the Topeka Blues Society so you will see more of me around town playing.

I am writing and recording some new music as well as producing a couple of projects that others have written. More details to come.

TNT has disbanded. No drama. People moved on to different things. My new band IGP is in the studio finishing up our new CD which should be out by February.

I am excited about the musical journey I am on this year and I invite you to share it with me. Follow me here for updates and new music.

Cheers!
